“Mountain of Bliss is made solely in gold leaf smalti which is terribly extravagant but oh my God, does it catch the light in a manner that no other mosaic material can possibly do! The orange gold leaf smalti just puts a big smile on my face.
I read an interview of an old friend in a magazine of psychology and the alternative where she talked about her vision of the afterlife and the love of God as “an orange sea of bliss”. I suppose that joined up for me in this title whilst putting down my wonderful orange pieces.
Initially this mosaic was thought of as a Feng Shui tool as any company director, large or small, according to this Chinese belief should have an image of a mountain behind them in their office to provide endless stability and support. I’ll let you know if it works!” Arendse
